Holy Eucharist: The Eucharist is the heart and the summit of the Church’s life, for in it Christ associates his Church and all her members with his sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving offered once for all on the cross to his Father; by this sacrifice, he pours out the graces of salvation in his Body which is the Church. Therefore, just as the body needs food for nourishment in this journey of life, the soul needs the nourishment of the Eucharist in our journey towards heaven. At St. Thomas More and all Progressive Catholic Churches, it is our belief that Christ gave us the Eucharist as food to nourish our souls and sustain us on our faith journey, therefore, it is not a prize for those who have been good or followed the rules. It is for the broken and those most in need. With that, we welcome ALL to receive the Eucharist during Mass regardless of your faith background or current state of grace. If you do not wish to receive the Eucharist, you still may come up to the priest or Eucharistic Minister during Communion, fold your arms over your chest and bow and you will receive a blessing.

Reconciliation: This Sacrament gives us the grace to fight temptation and sin and avoid the near occasion of sin. Ultimately, confession brings us closer in relationship with God and grants peace, the serenity of conscience, and spiritual consolation. A priest is available to hear confession between 1:30-1:45 PM on Saturdays before Mass, or by appointment. Please call the parish office or email one of our priests.

Marriage: Married love is meant to mirror the unconditional, permanent, faithful, and total love that God has for each of us. To live marital love well means to find one of the most significant sources of human fulfillment and happiness. We are thrilled that you are seeking God’s grace and help in living out this high calling through the Sacrament of Matrimony, and we are excited to help you prepare for more than just your wedding day. We can arrange for a full Nuptial Mass in our beautiful worship space, an intimate backyard ceremony at your home or anything in between. Please call the parish office or email one of our priests after your engagement. Please also click here for additional information.

Baptism: The Sacrament of Baptism is the gateway to Christian life. Through Baptism, we are freed from sin and reborn as sons and daughters of God. We become members of the Body of Christ as we are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission through the gifts of the Holy Spirit. We can’t wait to welcome your child into the life of Christ and our Church through Baptism. We offer both infant and adult baptism and you need not be a member of the parish to receive the sacrament of baptism. Please call the parish office or email one of our priests for additional information.

Anointing of the Sick: The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick confers special graces on those baptized Catholics suffering from a grave illness, old age, or in danger of death. This anointing can restore health if such is according to God’s will and confers peace, courage, and strength to endure such difficulties in a Christian manner. For those unable to participate in the Sacrament of Reconciliation, this Sacrament also confers the forgiveness of sins and, for the dying, preparation for passing over to eternal life. The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick will be offered as needed, both communally as well as individually. Please call the parish office or email one of our priests for additional information. Additionally, our Clergy and the lay ministers will happily bring Holy Communion to any who are sick or homebound. Please call the parish office or email one of our clergy to make arrangements. NOTE: If you are in need of immediate assistance from a priest because of the death of a family member after office hours, or someone is in need of a priest because of an imminent death, please do not hesitate to contact our parish office.

Confirmation: Confirmation perfects the graces received in Baptism by an extraordinary outpouring of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. As a result, those receiving this Sacrament are rooted more deeply into the life of God and His Church. Non Catholics or adult Catholics that wish to complete their initiation are prepared to receive Confirmation through the RCIA process. Confirmation is celebrated every year during the Easter Vigil. If you are interested in being confirmed, please contact the parish office or email one of our priests.

Holy Orders: “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few” (Matthew 9:37). Do you believe you have a calling to the ordained life? Baptized Catholics, called by God to be a deacon, priest, or bishop, can be ordained and receive the Sacrament of Holy Orders. These disciples commit to serving God and his Church; they continue Christ’s priesthood. Christ entrusted the apostles to continue his mission to spread the news of Christianity. Today, Holy Orders, given to bishops, priests, and deacons, continue this mission in the Church, which is why it is referred to as the sacrament of apostolic ministry. If you believe you are receiving this call from God, please reach out to one of our clergy to discuss your options.

It also acts as a representative of the people, bringing their thoughts and concerns to the pastor. The Parish Council meets once a month.
